Department of Local Affairs’ funding programs help local Colorado communities recover from the devastating physical and economic effects of natural disasters. The programs help homeowners, businesses, local governments, and communities rebuild after natural disasters.
For more than a century, The American Red Cross has helped to provide shelter and assistance after major disasters, including wildfires, floods, and tornados.
Colorado Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) is an affiliate of National VOAD, an association of organizations that mitigates and alleviates the impact of disasters; provides a forum promoting cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration; and fosters more effective delivery of services to communities affected by disaster.
