About the CSU Lincoln Leader Scholars Program

Established in 2024, the CSU Lincoln Leader Scholars is a cohort program designed to recognize and honor emerging leaders from across the state, including students who previously served as state officers with Colorado 4-H or FFA. Named in honor of President Abraham Lincoln, who signed the landmark land-grant bill into law in 1862, the program embodies the principles of education, service, extension, and research as reflected in CSU’s seal.

Each Lincoln Leader Scholar receives a $5,000 annual scholarship for up to four years, allowing them to pursue any academic discipline at Colorado State University.

In addition to financial support, scholars become part of a vibrant cohort of Lincoln Leaders and engage in mentorship, career development, professional networking, and community-building opportunities to help them thrive both during their studies and post-graduation.

A ‘Ramily’ Tradition

“I chose CSU because I love the agricultural history it has. As a third-generation Ram and agricultural major, I understand the value of tradition and hope to help other students find their home at CSU! With my Lincoln Leaders scholarship, I am able to attend CSU with confidence and enjoy my time here rather than be constantly worried about my student debt.”

AWelcoming Environment

“I am a biomedical science major at CSU, pursuing a career in healthcare. I love being outside and appreciate all of the cool things to do in and around Fort Collins, as well as the welcoming environment and wide variety of people. I wanted to attend CSU because of their great academic program in my field of interest and the location of the school, and the Lincoln Leader Scholarship made this a possibility for me.”
